Xiamen, China -- Ven. Jiqun, the director of Buddhist Studies Institute of Xiyuan Vinaya Monastery of Precepts-Banner, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He gave a lecture on "The Three Principle Paths" which written by Lord Lama Je Tsongkhapa at South Potalaka Monastery on October 1, 2006.

 

Ven. Jiqun pointed out the core of "The Three Principle Paths": Supra-mundane-mind, Bodhi-mind and the Correct View of the Middle Way as well as the five major factors of practice: renunciation, the arousal of the mind (thought) of intention to achieve enlightenment, precepts, the maintenance of correct view, the cultivation of Stopping and Contemplation (The two basic forms of Buddhist meditation).

 

Ven. Jiqun encouraged the audience to establish proper faith and confidence, he said the Buddhist Dharma cannot separated from mind, be a Buddha or a mundane distraught sentient being depend on his/her own shift in mind.   [Translator: Wang Xinyu   News in Chinese]
