Xinjiang, China -- At Huayuan Township of Hami City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Sept. 9, 2006, the monks, who come from the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan respectively, are on their journey to follow in the odyssey of famous predecessor Ven. Xuanzang on a journey from China to India. Xuanzang (602 AD-664 AD), an eminent Buddhist Master of Tang Dynasty, traveled from the city of Chang'an, today's Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to India in 629 AD to study Buddhism and obtained valuable Buddhist scriptures.
