Shimmery oil lamp

Illuminating darkness
FJNET, August 28, 2006
Chongqing, China -- In the evening of August 23, the first "Spirit Tour Summer Camp" in Huayan Monastery held Lamp-Transmission Dharma Assembly. Instructor monks led each camper to light up their small oil lamps. This meaningful oil lamp symbolizes our human mind, as well as the vast wisdom and brilliant light of the Buddha. To light up oil lamp represents the solemn vow of emitting light and warmth towards the whole world with their sincere heart with their sincere hearts like a lamp can illuminate darkness.
Campers held lotus-like oil lamps in both hands with great care, crossing through the Huayan Lake. The lovely lamps were silhouetted against the silent darkness, and each tiny face was peaceful and pure, their minds were full of serenity and joy.
When they returned to the Dharma Propagation Hall, on the yard ground they circled all lamps which represent the unity of people and the perfect penetration without obstruction of Dharma. [Translator: Wang Xinyu Translated from: news.fjnet.com ]
