Chongqing, China -- Ten thousands of sutras which were preserved from ancient time and thousands of Chinese calligraphies and paintings which were created by eminent artists they all were collected and stored by Huayan Monastery in Chongqing, China. However, many of them were on the edge of irreparability, some pages of ancient sutras will fall apart into piece with a gentle touch. Therefore, Huayan Monastery launched a project of restoration sutras and Chinese calligraphies and paintings from May. On July 30, Huayan Monastery exhibited nine restored works.

"The restoration project is systematic and large-scale, needing at least 3 years. When we restored a cultural treasure successfully, an exultant happiness was rising from our heart for our descendants can have the chance to learn from it." Ven. Daojian said.   [From news.Fjnet.com]    [Translator: Wang Xinyu]
