VietNamNet -- A large Buddhist pagoda, Cam Lo, has been re-inaugurated in the central province of Quang Tri in Viet Nam.

Prominent at the inauguration ceremony were the Most Venerable Thich Thien Binh, who is member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Luong Trung Thong, President of the provincial chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Cam Lo pagoda was first built in 1940 and had fallen into disrepair. Works on restoration of the pagoda started in September 2002.

A library will be built on the pagoda grounds.

The pagoda is now a centre for religious activities by Buddhist followers of Cam Lo, Dakrong, Huong Hoa and Gio Linh districts.
