Ven. Xuecheng


 

Ven. Xuecheng was born in Xianyou County in Fujian Province in 1966. He became a monk Guanghua Monastery in Putian, in Fujian Province in 1982. In 1991, Ven. Xuecheng graduated from the Chinese Buddhist Academy with master¡¯s degree.

 

In 1989, he became the abbot of Guanghua Monastery in Putian. In 1993, he became the vice secretary-general of Buddhist Association of China. In 2002, he became the vice chairman and secretary-general of Buddhist Association of China. In 2004, he became the abbot of Famen Monastery. In 2005, he became the abbot of Longquan Monastery in Beijing[Translator: Wang Xinyu]
