|  Ven. Kok Kwong
Ven. Kok Kwong was born in 1919 in Haicheng, Liaoning. In 1928, he became a novice monk in Haihui Temple in Shanghai. In 1930, he received full ordination at the Tiantong Monastery in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. In 1939, he left to Hong Kong and became a disciple of Ven. Baojing under the Tiantai School. Ven. Kok Kwong has been President of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association for the past few decades. He devoted himself to the spread of Buddhism as well as education, charities and welfare services for the elderly. His remarkable contributions made him widely recognized as a leading Buddhist figure in Hong Kong. [Translator: Wang Xinyu]
