Ven. Xuecheng


Ven. Xuecheng was born in Xianyou County in Fujian Province in 1966. He became a monk Guanghua Monastery in Putian, in Fujian Province in 1982. In 1991, Ven. Xuecheng graduated from the Chinese Buddhist Academy with masterí»s degree.


In 1989, he became the abbot of Guanghua Monastery in Putian. In 1993, he became the vice secretary-general of Buddhist Association of China. In 2002, he became the vice chairman and secretary-general of Buddhist Association of China. In 2004, he became the abbot of Famen Monastery. In 2005, he became the abbot of Longquan Monastery in Beijing[Translator: Wang Xinyu]
