Ven. Yi Cheng

<P align=left><BR><FONT size=4>Born in 1927 in Wangcheng, Hunan, Ven. Yicheng became a monk in June, 1949 and was fully ordained by Ven. Xuyun in 1956. In 1957, under the guidance of Xuyun, Yicheng followed the Chan traditions of Weiyang and Linji. In 1985, he became the Abbot of Zhenru Chan Temple. Ven. Yicheng has also served as Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and President of Jiangxi Buddhist Association. In 2002, he was elected as the President of Buddhist Association of China.&nbsp; <SPAN lang=EN-US><FONT size=3>[Translator: Wang Xinyu]</FONT></SPAN></P></FONT>
