Hangzhou Needs Volunteer Translators and the Prof. Translators' Leaders for the WBF

Hangzhou Daily -- The First World Buddhist Forum will be held from 13th to 17th April, 2006 in Hangzhou city, Zhoushan city, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai. And the "Hangzhou Volunteer Translators Team" will provide 40 volunteer translators for WBF.

 

WBF needs 20 volunteer translators in English as well as 20 translators in Japanese, Russian, German, French, Korean, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Thai, Nepali, Burmese, and Cambodia. By February 28, volunteer translators in Vietnamese, Mongolian, Thai, Nepali, Burmese, Cambodia, and Slavic were still in short supply.

 

As a result, the "Hangzhou Volunteer Translators Team" started to recruit volunteer translators and professional translators' leaders for large-scale activities in society. The team welcomed volunteer translators in those languages which were mentioned above, especially Vietnamese, Mongolian, Thai, Nepali, Burmese, Cambodia. Meanwhile, the "Hangzhou Volunteer Translators Team" was recruiting teachers in Hangzhou city who have the ability to train the volunteer translators.
