Ven. Juexing, abbot of Jade Buddha Monastery, leads a Chinese Delegation to attend the 2nd World Buddhist Summit

At the end of November 2004, Ven. Juexing, vice-chairman of the Buddhist Association of China and the Abbot of Jade Monastery in Shanghai, led a Chinese delegation to the 2nd World Buddhism Summit held at Lumbini, Nepal¡ªthe birthplace of Sakyamuni.

 

Ven. Juexing announced during the Summit that the first World Buddhist Forum will be held on the Chinese Mainland. Unanimously, the other representatives from over 20 countries welcomed his coming and supported the forum.  [Translator: Wang Xinyu]
