Hebei, China -- On October 31, 2006, The Zen Visiting Delegation from America visited Bailin Temple (Zhao County, Hebei Province). Feng Keqiang (Chinese name), leader of the delegation once studied architecture in China; he is now a member of San Francisco Zen Center. Since 1980s, he developed an interest in Buddhism, In 1990s, he started to practice Zen (Chan), and visited Bailin Temple frequently.

 

Under the guide of Ven. Mingyi, the delegates practiced meditation at Puxian Hall, attending morning ritual with Bailin Sangha, having lunch with Bailin Sangha, experiencing the practice custom of Chan. In each afternoon, Feng Keqiang gave a speech on Chan.

 

In the evening of November 1, 2006, Ven. Minghai, abbot of Bailin Temple gave an English Dharma Talk to the delegation at Zhiyue Hall.

 

In the morning of November 2, 2006, the delegation performed Tea Serving Ritual before the Ven. Zhaozhou Stupa. In the afternoon, they chanted sutra at Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall before visiting the famous Zhaozhou Stone Arch Bridge.

 

In the morning of November 3, 2006, after cleaning their lodging house by themselves, the Zen Visiting Delegation saying goodbye to Bailin Temple and started off on their way home. [Translator: Wang Xinyu   News in Chinese]
